Mixed Green's Artist: Dual Eyed Mic
How did the band's name come about? Was it a group effort or an epiphany?
Basically It came from my dog (whose name is Mike), he has two different colored eyes. I just threw it out to and everyone agreed...That's it!
Did you get into music for the art of it or was it all because of the groupies (Male and Female)?
Most definatley for the art since we have such a great opportunity to express ourselves. Having said that the girls are nice too
How do you feel about being a part of Mixed Greens?
Awesome! It's so great to be associated with so many different types of music and so many talented artist.
How about the personalities of the group?
Who's the wild one, who's the business one, who's not paying attention?I'm sure it would depend on who you asked. I think I will I will just say yes! We have them all wild, business, clueless, stoney, leader, follower and so on!
Who's your idol or inspiration for your music?
Early Ska/Reggae pioneers, such as Desmond Dekker, Prince Buster and Toots Hibbart. Second wave ska bands like the English Beat, Specials, Bad Manners, the Selecter and Madness.
Where do you feel music is going in the next couple of years?
Hopefully away from emo!
How often do you write songs & how do you come up with your song concepts?As of late Kyle has written a new song about every two weeks, they're usually fun and catchy and open for the rest of the band to add horn lines, keys backing vocals and such.
Mixed Greens is a Blended Musical Compilation how do you describe your music?We are a ska band but the great thing about 3rd wave ska is that it mixes so many different kinds of music and just about anything goes. We love to mix in punk, rock, funk, hip hop and even some Hawaiian stuff!
Whats the best part about creating your own music?
You already said it, it's your own!
